Tyler Calpin is an artist and photographer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has found success in both the commercial and fine art worlds, and is always torn between the two. Tyler’s work not only challenges the medium, but pushes the idea of photography (and photographs) being non-static works. Recent endeavors by the artist include documenting the post-industrialization of Youngstown, Ohio. The element of collaboration is highly important within Calpin’s work, which also deals with identity, relationships, self-reflection, lineage and place.
